EICHER Breaks 600 Barrier
KUWAIT – Jan 31, 2008: Kuwait Automotive Imports Company WLL (Al Shaya & Al Sagar), a leading automotive and auto related products distributor, is proud to announce that EICHER Trucks and Buses (Made In India with Japanese collaboration) have exceeded 600 units on the road in Kuwait 'milestone'.

Eicher Motors was founded in 1982 in India to manufacture a range of reliable and fuel-efficient commercial vehicles. The company has a technical collaboration with MITSUBISHI, Japan and now a joint venture with AB, Volvo of Sweden. Eicher Motors is the 2nd largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in its segments. Al Shaya & Al Sagar introduced this brand at the end of 2000 and are the 2nd highest seller of these commercial vehicles in the region, and have overtaken their peers in spite of being a late entrant.

The Eicher line up consists of the best seller - a turbo charged 3.3L Diesel Truck (120PS) with a 4.3m or 5m tough, all steel cargo body. In addition, there is a short wheelbase cab and chassis and 2.0 Ton Tipper. Last year Eicher successfully introduced the 58 seater AC and Non AC 11.5m long buses in addition to the 28 seater CRUISER bus.

Mr Fumio Tone, General Manager of KAICO, highlighted that customers will seek newer, cost-effective automotive solutions to meet market and customer demand and EICHER intends to increase it sales by over 40% this year.
